White Water Rafting (2 – 8 hours)

White Water Rafting is a perfect activity for a sunny weekend in the sea to sky corridor. There are three companies in the corridor that run rafting tours, The Adventure Group (TAG) with Wedge Rafting, Canadian Outback Adventures and Reo Rafting.

The three rivers that these companies run tours on are:

  • The Green River – Perfect for first-time rafters that are looking for a thrill, containing class 2 and three rapids.
  • The Cheakamus River - Perfect for families and children as young as six years old. There are class 1 & 2 rapids, which are fun, easy, and splashy rapids.
  • The Elaho-Squamish River – Perfect for those adventure seekers. This is the most exciting river to raft in the Sea to Sky area. With class 3 and 4 rapids.

Depending on the river you choose, there can be waves, drops, bounces, spins and splashes. Your boat needs to paddle together to maneuver over and around logs, rocks and various objects. The river paths take you through old growth forests, with amazing views of glaciers, mountain peaks, dormant volcanoes, waterfalls and wildlife. Bring out your adventurous side this long weekend!

Joffre Lakes Hike (Approximate 5 hours)

Joffre Lakes Provincial Park contains three beautiful turquoise glacier lakes. Lower, Middle and Upper Lake. The trail is 5.5k to the third lake taking you into the high alpine, surrounded by tower glaciers. The trail has a bit of everything, steep sections, bridges, gradual climbs and rocky areas. In total, you gain 400 meters in the 5.5km to the lake. Give yourself at least 4 hours and then factor in how much time you would like to spend at the upper lake. The trail head is located roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes. Dogs are welcome on the trail and be aware there is no cell reception.
