Whistler Blackcomb Recreational Ski & Boarding Competitions
Ski and snowboard season is officially underway here in Whistler, and we couldn’t be more excited! Early season conditions have been excellent so far with tons of snow falling up top and down low. With both Whistler and Blackcomb mountain finally open, it’s only natural that the ski and snowboard events are coming too. December already has a bunch of recreational ski and boarding competitions scheduled for the month. Make sure you don’t miss out on a minute of the action by checking out the events below:
Kokanee Valley Race Series
Starts December 14th
Are you looking to get more involved in competitions? Well, the Kokanee Valley Race Series, held on Thursdays throughout the season, is the perfect chance to get your foot in the door. This race series is open to both skiers and snowboarders with different gender and age divisions and no racing experience required! All you need is a love for recreational racing and the desire to participate, and the rest will be looked after for you. Grab your friends and come out, have some, fun and maybe even win some prizes!

Park Rider Sessions
Starts December 17th
Park Rider Sessions are open to all ages of skiers and snowboarders. These sessions feature a progression of events all over Whistler Blackcomb’s best terrain. The Park Rider Sessions are recognized Freestyle BC events, which means, results from the sessions are eligible for the overall Freestyle BC Grand Prix awards and rankings.

King Of The Rail
Starts December 20th
King of the Rail is back and better than ever with a 3 part series of rail jam contests, ending with the crowning of the King & Queen of the Rail. Each event will be held at the Base of Whistler, next to the Fitzsimmons Chair. This event is fun for both the spectators and the participants, who have a chance to win money and prizes. There are separate categories for skiers & snowboarders, men & women, and adult & youth.
