The holidays in Whistler are always full of fun activities for the whole family to do. Ice Skating at the Whistler Olympic Plaza
A truly Canadian pastime, skating outdoors is an excellent way to spend time in Whistler. Take the whole family outdoor skating at the Whistler Olympic Plaza. This free activity is a great way to get into the holiday spirit. Head over to the Olympic Plaza, rent some skates (only $6!), and have a fun time with the family!
Head to the rink on December 17th to skate with Santa! From 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, enjoy holiday crafts, festive treats, hot chocolate, and ice skating with jolly ol’ St. Nick himself.
Snowshoeing at Lost Lake
If you can walk, you can snowshoe! Strap on some lightweight metal snowshoes and start exploring the vast snowy landscape of Lost Lake. Snowshoeing is actually really fun, you’ll quickly get a grasp of how to walk and in no time you’ll be off exploring forested trails around Lost Lost Park. Rent some snowshoes and escape on a winter hike where you can really savour the snowy tranquil landscape of Whistler.
Fire & Ice Show
Whistler’s legendary Fire & Ice Show will be starting for the winter this December 17th. This free outdoor show is definitely something you want to see while you’re in Whistler. Held every Sunday throughout the winter at Skier’s Plaza, you can catch some incredible high-flying action as skiers and boarders jump through flames, DJs spin music, and fireworks go off – the Fire & Ice Show is guaranteed fun for the whole family!
Dress Like Santa Day
A tradition in Whistler, Santa Day brings festive fun up the mountain. On December 16th, dress like Santa or Mrs. Claus and meet at the Whistler Village Gondola at 8am for a day of merriment. Free lift tickets will be given out to the first 100 people, in full Santa or Mrs. Claus attire, at the Garibaldi Lift Company – located at the base of Whistler Mountain.
Whistler Village Holiday Lights
Take a break from the holiday rush and enjoy the lights throughout the Village Stroll. Hundreds of thousands of lights have been hung in Whistler Village creating a wonderful backdrop for a walk at night. Experience an atmosphere of holiday magic as the world around you is lit up for the season.
